Frequently Asked Questions

General

We run a computer refurbishing and repair center. We sell low-cost computers, offer affordable computer repair and provide free assessments.

We are open the the public but our goal is to serve people with disabilities, people who are low-income, charitable organizations and our local community. We are an official Microsoft Refurbisher and due toe the rules of that program we can only "citizenship" software licenses to these groups. If you do not fall into one of these groups we can still work with you but there are restrictions on what we can offer.

Not at this time. We are primarily a vocational training program and do not run a retail store front (yet!). We are happy to schedule an appointment for you and you may contact us through our contact page.

We offer support over the phone and though electronic communication (email, message board, ticket system etc).

We offer a 30-day warranty on hardware and free tech support for your computer for 1 year. Our goal is to provide a good working computer to you and help you keep it going.

About CRC Computers

As a computer refurbisher, we obtain a wide variety of computers. They vary in brand and specification but the majority are retired business-class machines. We test, repair and refurbish each machine to ensure it meets specification and proper operation.

Q: Do computers come with an official Microsoft restore CD?

A: No. As part of the Microsoft Refurbisher's agreement, we are not allowed to offer official install or restore media. In the future we plan on offering a reimaging system, but that has not yet been implemented.

You can (and we encourage you to) implement your own recovery system using free home imaging products such as Macrium Reflect Free.
